In order to ensure the quality of education and security of foreign students, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has strengthened the requirements for higher education institutions that train foreign citizens.
Higher education establishments that train foreigners and stateless persons and intend to continue to carry out such training should, by December 31, 2019, renew their licence in accordance with the procedure established by law.
The online portal http://studyinukraine.gov.ua/ , which provides an opportunity to ensure the transparency of the entry of foreigners into Ukrainian Universities without the participation of intermediaries. This site is an official state source of information on the training of foreign students in Ukraine.
Tuition fees and entry conditions are published on the official web pages of the universities (http://studyinukraine.gov.ua/study-in-ukraine/universities/ ).
Since 2019, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ukrainian State Center for International Education (USCIE) have introduced a free service for Foreign Students StudyPass (https://site.studypass.intered.com.ua/en.html ).
The service will allow a foreign entrant, on the number of his invitation, to obtain all the necessary information, namely:
- the name of the educational institution;
- the address of the educational institution;
- contacts of the educational institution;
- cost of education;
- a copy of the draft contract;
- the name of the faculty;
- level of education (language training, basic education - junior bachelor, bachelor, master, postgraduate education, etc.);
- information about the agent, if indicated in the invitation to study,
- contact of the agent;
- information about therelevant Embassy of Ukraine;
- information about the foreign embassy in Ukraine;
- information about USCIE.
It is also planned to create an electronic cabinet for a foreign applicant, the link to which will be indicated in the invitation to study as a QR code. The electronic cabinet will contain information in English, including the cost of training, a copy of the contract, details for payment for tuition.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine also makes changes to the Licensing conditions for conducting educational activities, in particular concerning the mandatory availability of foreign currency accounts in higher education institutions of Ukraine and the information on the cost of education published in full on the educational institution's website.
