According to Ukrinform with reference to the presidential press service, the relevant decree № 533/2020 was signed on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated on December 3.

The document aims to ensure equal and unhindered access of all social groups to education, employment, services, infrastructure, participation in community life and will help create appropriate conditions for the realization of socio-economic, political, personal rights and freedoms of Ukrainian citizens.

According to the decree, the Cabinet of Ministers with the involvement of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, representatives of government agencies and local governments, public activists, scientists, experts should develop and approve a National Strategy for Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine based on world best practices.

The strategy is expected to be developed and approved in April 2021.
