On February 3, 2025 the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Iraq Mr. Ivan Dovhanych met with the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Iraq Mr. Hallo Al-Askari to discuss bilateral cooperation in the field of environmental protection including the issue of humanitarian demining. In particular, the Minister was informed about the serious situation related to the mine/UXO contamination in Ukraine as a result of Russian aggression against our country. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of the humanitarian demining process for agricultural land clearance.

Among other things, the issues of possible cooperation with involvement of innovative technologies to solve problems related to the negative consequences of climate change, such as air pollution, water scarcity, water quality degradation, etc. were discussed.
