In response to media inquiries regarding reports, first published by Iran's Tasnim News Agency on 20 October 2026 citing an unnamed security source, alleging that Ukraine has deployed drone units and thousands of drones in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Iraq states the following.

These allegations are entirely unfounded and amount to deliberate disinformation. Ukraine has not deployed any drones, drone units or related personnel in the Kurdistan Region or anywhere else in Iraq.

Ukraine fully respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Iraq and deeply values its friendship with the Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government.

We call on the media to exercise due diligence and to refrain from amplifying unverified claims.
